About
I became a freelance author specialising in psychology after many years' experience of training, teaching and research in psychology. Although I particularly love cognitive and biological psychology, I enjoy writing about all aspects of psychology. I also work as a freelance editor of psychology materials for Curriculum Press Ltd.
Qualifications and training: B.Sc. and Ph.D.in Psychology (University of Kent), Certificate in Basic Proofreading (The Publishing Training Centre), Working with the Media training (British Psychological Society).
Teaching experience: I have been an associate lecturer for the University of Kent and the Open University. I have also taught psychology in an adult education setting and A-level psychology.
Research experience: I have worked as a research associate investigating such topics as visual mental imagery and using the cognitive interview to enhance young children’s eyewitness memory. I have also conducted research into visual attention.
Memberships: Society of Authors, British Psychological Society, Association of British Science Writers.
Personal: I live in Whitstable on the north Kent coast with my husband and two children.
